Cosmos Network (ATOM) : Key info

Hey everyone,

In this Medium article, you will find the critical information you need to know if you want to buy an ATOM and then stake them.

This article is not focused on what is Cosmos Network and is not giving any technical information. If you want to know more about Cosmos Network, you can check this article.

Where to buy ATOM?

If you were not an ICO participant, you need to buy some ATOM if you want to get started with Cosmos Network.

With transfers enabled a few days ago, you can buy them right now, almost on all the leading cryptocurrencies exchanges such as Kraken, Binance, Huobi, Poloniex, Gate.io, OKEX, and even Bittrex.

Insane how the coin has been listed almost everywhere in a short period! 👏

Another advantage is that there are several pairs available so you can trade against ETH, BTC, BNB, USD, CAD, EUR…

What wallet should you use to hold your ATOM?

Once you have bought some ATOM on exchanges, you should send them to a Cosmos wallet where you can delegate directly.

For us, the two most straightforward solutions on the market right now are Wetez Wallet and Cosmostation.

You should have a look at this article if you are considering using Wetez.

Both are available on smartphones and are user-friendly. If you want an overview of the Cosmos Network wallet, you can also have a look at this article made by Chorus One.

How to stake your ATOM?

Finally, to enjoy the inflation of the protocol, you need to stake your ATOM to a validator.

If you used Cosmostation or Wetez, you simply need to go to the validator page and select the one you prefer based on uptime, fees, self-bond. If you are using Ledger, check this article to know how you can delegate.

At POS Bakerz, we charge only 2% fees and would be honored to have you on board.

Here is our address if you are using the command line:

Take part in the HODL Competition.

To familiarize people with staking, we decided to launch a competition with 100 ATOM giveaway between all of our delegators and a monthly 50% Revshare on our fees for May to our biggest delegator.

More info is coming this week about the competition. Stay tuned! 🚀🌌

DISCLAIMER: This is not financial advice. Staking and cryptocurrencies investment involves a high degree of risk, and there is always the possibility of loss, including the loss of all staked digital assets. Additionally, delegators are at risk of slashing in case of security or liveness faults on BPoS protocols. We advise you to DYOR before choosing a validator.
