Hello Stakin Community! 👋
As June comes to a close, we’re bringing you the latest updates across staking protocols, infrastructure upgrades, and new educational content. Here's what’s new:
• Understanding Slashing in Proof-of-Stake: Key Risks for Validators and Delegators
• Introduction to IOTA: Smart Contracts, Staking, and Network Utility (2025)
• Introduction to Zilliqa 2.0

Slashing in PoS Networks: What Every Staker Should Know
Slashing is rare, especially when staking with reliable validators like Stakin, but the risk is real. When it does happen, both validators and delegators can lose a portion of their stake.
In our latest article, we break down the leading causes of slashing across networks like Cosmos, Polkadot, and ZetaChain. From double-signing and downtime to protocol-specific penalties, we explain what slashing means, how it works, and, most importantly, how to protect yourself.
Whether you're running infrastructure or simply delegating, understanding slashing is essential for securing long-term yield and trust in Proof-of-Stake networks.
IOTA Rebased: A New Era of Smart Contracts and Staking
IOTA has entered a new phase with the launch of its Rebased network, bringing Layer 1 smart contracts, Delegated Proof-of-Stake (dPoS), and scalable architecture to the protocol. Built on the MoveVM, IOTA now supports parallelized contract execution and sub-second finality, while its new tokenomics introduce staking rewards, minimal gas fees, and a deflationary burn mechanism.
As a validator on IOTA, Stakin enables token holders to stake their assets securely, earn compounding rewards, and support real-world adoption initiatives like the Trade Logistics Information Pipeline (TLIP).
Explore what makes IOTA’s next-gen design unique and why it matters for developers, stakers, and infrastructure participants alike.
Zilliqa 2.0 Is Live: New Architecture, New Staking Options
Zilliqa has officially migrated to a new PoS-based protocol, bringing faster block finality (~2 seconds), native EVM + Scilla support, and an all-new staking design. All smart contracts, balances, and apps from Zilliqa 1.0 are preserved, but staking requires action.
With Zilliqa 2.0, you now choose between liquid staking (with tokenized rewards) or non-liquid staking (for compounding or claiming). Delegators must manually migrate their stake starting June 23 to remain eligible for rewards.
Stakin is live on Zilliqa 2.0 from day one, offering seamless validator access, guidance, and trusted infrastructure.

Stakin at NBC2025: Governance and Validator Insights
On June 18, our COO Henri Allik represented Stakin at the Nordic Blockchain Conference 2025 in Stockholm. Speaking on the Thor Stage, he explored validator roles, staking incentives, and the evolving governance models shaping Proof-of-Stake networks.
We’re proud to contribute to industry conversations that push blockchain infrastructure forward.
