It happens when the validator is down for approximately 10,000 blocks (about 16 hours) • Double sign slashing: 5% of DSM slashed. Learn about Desmos (DSM)
Desmos is a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain created for social networking applications. As a permissionless and censorship-resistant network, Desmos powers the development of user-centric social networks. To further connect decentralized social media with traditional networks, users can link their social media profiles, and Desmos provides on-chain proofs of identity. Additionally, users are incentivized via DSM to be actively involved in the networks. Desmos is built on the Cosmos SDK and is based on the Tendermint Consensus Engine. Desmos is an application-specific blockchain specifically created for social networking apps and projects. The network launched its Mainnet on the 31st of August 2021. DSM, which is Desmos native cryptocurrency, can be used to pay gas fees, participate in decentralized governance, and staked to earn yield.
